After 20 years working as a nurse in the Twin Cities, Nancy was lead to her studies in Lymphedema Therapy. When her husband developed a post-surgical lymphedema, she was determined to understand what had happened. In June of 2001 Nancy began to study Lymph Drainage Therapy through the Upledger Institute. She became very enthusiastic about how lymph drainage can help relieve the severe discomfort of acute and chronic lymphatic congestion. In November of 2004 Nancy received her certification in Lymph Drainage Therapy, Lymphedema and Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy from the Upledger Institute. Nancy has also studied (and continues to study) CranioSacral Therapy, Heart Centered Therapy, Brain Therapy and other healing modalities.
Nancy encourages clients to participate fully in their care and encourages the client to be an active decision-maker in their healing process. Nancy offers a positive healing environment. She is known for being compassionate and for meeting her clients with an open heart and mind.
Nancy’s interests include working with clients who have lymphedema, conditions related to toxicity, vascular edemas, and other complex medical conditions. She is very clear about what she can do to help treat a condition and will provide her services with professionalism and a deep base of knowledge.
As a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, Nancy has strong community values. Along with her volunteer activities, she is a member of the National Lymphedema Network, Support for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer, the Minnesota Holistic Nurses Association and other organizations. |
