Dr. Ryan specializes in the treatment of complex medical conditions and brings over 30 years of experience to her practice. In addition to her degree in physical therapy, she has advanced manual therapy skills including Myofascial Release, Visceral Mobilization, and Craniosacral Therapy along with training in the psycho-physiology of pain (body/mind connections). All of these techniques focus on addressing imbalances in the connective tissues of the body.
Imbalances in connective tissues, or fascias, commonly occur due to old traumas, scar tissue, recurring injuries, poorly healed surgeries, and autoimmune disturbances such as fibromyalgia or prolonged stresses. These imbalances frequently result in symptoms such as chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, concentration difficulties, and developmental delays in children.
Responses to treatment interventions include pain relief, improved sleep and mental clarity, and attainment of desired physical goals.
Sessions are 60 minutes for new evaluations and follow-up visits for adults. Follow-up sessions for children are usually 30 minutes.
